Rihanna Honors Grandmother with $1.75M Donation

Christmas is the season of giving and R&B artist Rihanna fully realized its meaning by doing philanthropic work. The award-winning artist donated $1.75 million to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in her hometown in Barbados.

The generous donation was made in memory of her deceased Grandmother whom she fondly called Gran Gran Dolly. She died in June after battling cancer for some time.

Rihanna accompanied the donation with a statement saying that helping Queen Elizabeth Hospital in its modernization program is her way of giving back to Barbados. She believes it will have a big impact on the people, save lives or at least extend some of them.

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital has now renamed its cancer treatment center to Clara Braithwaite Center for Oncology and Nuclear Medicine.

What Rihanna did is very commendable. Her donation will be a very beneficial gift to cancer patients in Barbados.

Jennifer Lopez�s $20 Million Lawsuit Rejected by Court

It looks like the year 2012 won?t be ending to well for Jennifer Lopez. You see, the court has dismissed the $20 million counter lawsuit she filed against her former chauffeur Hakob Manoukian. Manoukian?s lawyers used the California anti-SLAPP law as leverage to have J.Lo?s countersuit dropped and they succeeded. Under this law, the defense is prevented from using the countersuit as a ploy to drop the original case.

Remember that a few months ago Manoukian accused J.Lo and her manager of unlawful termination. He claimed that they did not follow through with the terms stated in their contract which includes an annual salary of $72,000 and bonuses totaling up to $200,000!

Aside from breaching their contract, the former chauffeur also accused the singer of public humiliation and demotion from his job.

But J.Lo lapped him with a $20 million extortion countersuit. She also accused him of demanding almost $3 million and also threatening to reveal some of the star?s secrets to the media.

Manoukian?s case against the star continues. Just bad luck for J.Lo but if her lawyers are good they?ll get around it.

Another celebrity will be tying the knot soon! The 33-year-old singer Brandy is engaged to her boyfriend Ryan Press! Apparently, Ryan who is a music executive popped the question to Brandy during the holidays making it doubly special for the singer!

The two have been dating for more than a year now but they only made it public at a New Year?s Eve party last year.

Both Brandy and Ryan are very happy in their relationship right now and think making it legal is the next best thing to do. Brandy also strongly feels that what she has with Ryan is so right. Also, her 10-year-old daughter Sy?rai likes Ryan so it?s a go.

Well, I?m happy for Brandy that she finally found love again after all the bad love experiences in the past. This will be the first marriage for the both of them. Sy?rai is Brandy?s daughter with ex Robert Smith; but they were never married.

Guess who?s basking in wedded bliss again? It?s Titanic star Kate Winslet! She is now Mrs. Ned RocknRoll! But you know what? The wedding actually took place earlier this month in New York and not even one gossip monger knew until now!

Apparently, the two kept the wedding a tightly-guarded secret and only invited very few friends and family members. Kate?s two kids from her previous marriage were there of course. Her Titanic co-star Leonardo DiCaprio was invited too! In fact, he was the one who gave her away.

Kate?s rep recently confirmed the wedding and he also revealed that the two had been engaged since summer. This is Kate?s third marriage.

But how did their romance develop? Ned is the nephew of Richard Branson and he works at his uncle?s Virgin Galactic space-tourism business. The two met at one of Branson?s parties last year. And so, when Kate ended her romance with Louis Dowler last summer, she and Ned hooked up.

Well, they look good together and Kate seems happy with him so, let?s just wish them the best.

LeAnn Rimes? live performance with teen contestant Carly Rose Sonenclar became the talk of the town on Wednesdays night. And the reason was not because they made a flawless performance just the opposite in fact!

LeAnn?s performance of her 1997 hit song ?How Do I Live? left a lot to be desired because her voice seemed wobbly and she seemed to eat some of the words. It wasn?t at par with her performances in the past.

Even the part where she and Carly Rose sang together was not impressive though Britney? the teen?s mentor? said they were ?shockingly amazing together.? There was no blending and LeAnn?s voice was often louder than the teen?s.

Aside from the 30-year-old?s singing, her messy hair also made a lot of viewers think that she was drunk!

LeAnn, however, defended herself as soon as she heard what people were saying about her performance. Apparently, LeAnn slammed the criticisms saying she?d never been anything but professional on stage throughout her career. Her lawyer also supported her and said that LeAnn did not perform as she normally would because she was on stage with a young girl.

Perhaps LeAnn was not drunk at all; just that they did not practice their duet enough. What do you think?

If there?s one thing Kim Kardashian learned this year I think it?s never to underestimate the height of the stairs! She should very well remember that considering the fact that she almost took two tumbles outside a hair salon in West Hollywood yesterday!

Kim first tripped on her in the salon. She had to negotiate a big step on her way up but I think her super tight ripped skinny jeans kind of hampered her. The pair of black stilettos did not help her balance much either. But it was a good thing she was able to recover and did not fall flat on her face!

But as bad luck would have it, Kim took a worse step while going out of the salon. In her desire to avoid the huge step, Kim decided to make a jump for it. Unfortunately it was too high that she lost her footing when she landed on her feet slamming on the side of a parked car at the same time! She looked like one ungraceful heap when it happened.

Oh well, at least she did not land on her face or her bottom! That would be so much more humiliating! Because of this I wish Kim a trip-free 2013!

Although Ke$ha?s track ?Die Young? is one of the Top 10 songs in America, radio stations did not hesitate to take it off from their playlist after the horrific Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy last Friday. Is Ke$ha angry because of it? Not at all! In fact she fully supports their action.

However, something seems to be amiss, if her tweet was anything to go by. Although the controversial tweet has been long deleted, it stated that the singer did not want to sing the lyrics but was forced to.

Ke$ha also made a follow up tweet wherein she apologized to those who?ve been affected by the tragedy and that she totally understood why her song was deemed inappropriate.

But as to why or who forced her to sing the ?Die Young? lyrics is still a mystery. What?s puzzling though is she?s one of the song?s co-writers so surely she won?t write it if she didn?t want to sing it!

I didn?t know Claire Danes was that far along in her pregnancy! I thought she was just in her seventh month but I guess I wasn?t paying attention that much because Claire has already given birth! Maybe the baby?s premature?

Anyway, Claire and her British actor husband Hugh Dancy are now parents to a bouncing baby boy! This is by no means a rumor. The actress? rep confirmed the happy news on Monday. The happy parents named their firstborn Cyrus Michael Christopher Dancy. Well his name?s quite a mouthful!

Their baby boy just tops all the goodness that happened to Claire this year. She won an Emmy for her role in the hit TV thriller ?Homeland? earlier this year. She was also nominated for a Golden Globe for the same role.

Claire and her hubby took their time in completing their family circle. You see, the two have been married for almost three years before conceiving. They met on the set of ?Evening? around 2007 and tied the knot in September 2009.

She takes them for every meal for about 10 days. Sticking to soup for 10 days takes a lot of discipline but there are times when she cheats from her soup diet. She usually cheats with Chinese food and pizza!

Anyway, if the soup diet doesn?t remove all the extra weight she still has a backup plan, work out. Her personal trainer Mark Harari helps her shed them by working out three times a week.

Happy Happy Birthday Alyssa Milano! Today is the 19th of December and it?s her birthday! She actually turns 40 today but you?d hardly notice it eh? She?s still as fresh-faced and beautiful as the days she played Phoebe Halliwell in ?Charmed.?

Although her birthday is today, her party was held in advance. Last December 14, her hubby David Bugliari threw a surprise party for her at the London in West Hollywood. And mind you, David planned the surprise party pretty well and made it like a prom-themed bash since Alyssa didn?t have one back in high school.

All the guests to the party dressed up to the 90?s theme and all of them got a corsage when they entered the venue. It was a fun evening and no one was more surprised than the birthday girl who really had no clue about the surprise birthday bash!

Among the guests to Alyssa?s surprise party were DJ Vicious-Lee, Ludacris, Ken Jeong and Brian Grazer.

David is indeed a doting husband to go these lengths to make his wife happy. They?ve been married for three years and have a son, Milo.

Bauer Publishing Co. Denies Liability to Tom Cruise

Life & Style and In Touch magazine?s article that Tom Cruise abandoned his daughter did not sit well with the star that he filed a $50 million lawsuit against the both of them! Tom filed the lawsuit back in October and now, after a few months, the magazines? owner Bauer Publishing Co. has fired back.

Bauer filed their response to Tom?s lawsuit at the U.S. District Court in California on Friday. In their papers, the company asserted that they are not liable for damages because what their magazines printed was ?substantially true.?

Bauer also claims that Tom did not suffer any compensable damage due to the ?actionable statement published by the Bauer Defendants? and that he is ?a public figure and the Bauer Defendants did not act with actual malice.?

In addition, Bauer also cited a several grounds for their claims like the First, Fifth and 14th amendments of the U.S. Constitution including Article 1, Section 7 of the California Constitution.

Well, since Bauer Publishing Co. is denying any liability, I think this will be a start of a bloody and drawn-out court battle. I?m sure Tom won?t back down on his claim otherwise he?ll be called a liar.

The 70th Golden Globes will air next year January 13 with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler taking the reins as hosts. But the most important question is who will be competing for the coveted Best Actress, Best Actor, Best Picture and others?

Worry not because the roster of nominees has been announced. Thursday?s announcement revealed that ?Lincoln? takes the leading number of nominations! This film starring Daniel Day-Lewis Tommy Lee Jones and Sally Field has seven nominations and these are: best drama, best director, best actor, best actress, best supporting actor, best screenplay and best original score.

Ben Affleck?s ?Argo? and Quentin Tarantino?s ?Django Unchained? both got five nominations. Affleck is in line for best director for ?Argo? while ?Django Unchained? Leonardo DiCaprio and Chriostoph Waltz as best supporting actors.

Ann Hathaway could bring home the best supporting actress award for her role in ?Les Miserables.? Her co-actor Hugh Jackman is in line for best actor. Their film is also nominated for best musical or comedy film and best song, which totals to four nominations.

Other great films nominated for next year?s Golden Globes include ?Life of Pi,? ?The Master,? and Salmon Fishing in the Yemen.?

I?m sure all the nominees are pretty psyched up about this great news. But as to who gets proclaimed as the winner, we?ll see in January! Good luck to all the nominees!

And the plot gets thicker for Justin Bieber! His popularity doesn?t only attract stalkers but even murderers! You see, Justin is the subject of a murder plot by a jailed murderer! However, the plan did not materialize because the plotter, convicted murderer Dana Martin, revealed the plot to the police!

Martin, who is serving time for the rape and murder of a 15-year-old girl and is obsessed with the ?Baby? singer, recruited fellow inmate Mark Staake who also recruited his nephew Tanner Ruane to not only kill Justin and his bodyguard but two other people as well.

The murder plan included strangling the teen sensation using a paisley tie and then castrating him! But at the last minute, Martin leaked the murder plot thus the police were able to apprehend the Staake and Ruane. Murder tools like pruning shears were found in Ruane?s possession when he was arrested.

Supposed to be the plan was to kill Justin during his concert at the Madision Square Garden last November 28. So, while Justin and his fans were having fun during his concert, something sinister was going on.

This is very scary. Good thing Martin changed his mind at the last moment or else November 28 would have been a very tragic day for all Justin Bieber fans.

Did Morgan Freeman really issue the statement blaming the media for sensationalizing the Newtown, Connecticut shooting that killed 20 children and some adults? Freeman?s camp is crying foul over the issue! It?s just a hoax!

According to his rep, Freeman did not make such statements or even posted them. They are now trying to trace whoever made it.

But it seems Freeman?s camp doesn?t have to exert that much effort because the originator has been found! According to a thread in Reddit, the quote came originally from a guy named Mark who lives in Vancouver. Apparently Mark, who posted the quote on Facebook, thought that if he attributes it to the actor it will definitely go viral. And he wasn?t wrong!

Freeman?s supposed statement was a very lengthy one wherein he blames the media for treating the gunman like a celebrity. He also said that those who are thinking of ending their lives in their basement, go out instead and try to take as many people with them as possible so that they?ll be remembered even as a ?horrible monster instead of a sad nobody.?

The statement was a well composed one and it?s not really difficult to associate it with the Oscar winning actor. I thought it was really from too that I almost shared the quite on Facebook.

The worst about pregnancy is over for Megan Fox but the birthing experience is something she won?t forget anytime soon.

While talking about her latest movie ?This Is 40? with Access Hollywood, the new mom couldn?t help but share her experience when she gave birth to her and Brian Austin Green?s son Noah. She revealed that the first contraction she felt was pretty intense and it hurt so bad that she was screaming for an epidural while her hubby was driving her to the hospital!

The pain was so bad even from the start of her labor that Megan calculated it to be a level orange alert pain! Ouch!

But the funny thing is, despite the contractions, Megan still tried to blow dry her hair before going to the hospital! She didn?t want to go to the hospital with wet hair and I guess she wanted to look her best during her son?s arrival.

Despite that experience Megan is happily basking in motherhood! She said you can’t imagine how much you could possibly love a human being until you have kids.

OMG! It?s finally happening for the Channing Tatum and his wife Jenna Dewan-Tatum! Parenthood I mean! The couple?s rep has confirmed that Jenna is pregnant with their first baby! By next year they will be holding their little bundle of joy in their arms. Wow I can hardly wait to see that moment.

In previous interviews, both Channing and Jenna expressed their desire to have kids. Well, looks like their desire has been granted.

However, their rep did not say just how far along Jenna is in her pregnancy. I think she?s just one to two months pregnant since her baby bump is not that noticeable yet.

Channing and Jenna met on the set of Step Up in 2006 and tied the knot in July 2009 so, it?s about time they complete the family circle. I think Channing, whose been named the Sexiest Man Alive by People Magazine will be a great Dad. Do you agree?

Anyway, I can hardly wait to see their baby! With great-looking parents as Channing and Jenna, that baby is going to be adorable child!

That?s so much for not being together anymore. Remember that back in September Kat tweeted that she and Deadmau5 are no longer together. She even said that she was wrong and that he made their breakup a no-brainer. But as you can see, they were able to patch things up.

However, Deadmau5?s proposal to Kat was as unromantic as can be! But Kat loved it and she said yes. Imagine, he proposed to her on Twitter! I?m not sure if he?s serious or he just wants to get people?s attention. He tweeted, ?I can?t wait for Christmas so?Katherine Von Drachenberg, will you marry me?? he also accompanied the post with a photo of the engagement ring that?s made with a diamond and two tiny skulls on each side.

The photo came with a caption that he?s changing the center stone to a black diamond.

Kat didn?t waste any time answering him and proceeded to call him fianc? in her tweet. For his part, Deadmau5 also made it sound like he was surprised and excited to be engaged.

Finally! Kate Middleton?s severe morning sickness has let up enough to allow her to make her very first public appearance since the announcement of her pregnancy!

Kate made her public appearance at BBC?s Sports Personality of the Year Awards in London yesterday, December 16. Despite having severe bouts of morning sickness the past days, the Duchess of Cambridge looked spectacular during the event. In fact, she looked quite radiant in a dark green v-neck Alexander McQueen dress.

Although she has a very slim body, no evidence of a baby bump is in sight yet for Kate. She?s just one month pregnant so that?s natural.

Kate was supposed to make her first post-baby announcement appearance during ?The Hobbit?s? London premiere but the state of her health prevented her from doing so. But this time around, she was determined to pay tribute to Great Britain?s sportsmen and women. Together with David Beckham, Kate presented the Lifetime Achievement awards to Lord Seb Coe, Bradley Wiggins and Jessica Ennis.

And by the way, Kate had to go solo because Prince William had a shift at the RAF.

Zooey Deschanel has a huge reason to celebrate! She is officially single again! Her divorce from Death Cab for Cutie vocalist Ben Gibbard has been finalized on Wednesday in Los Angeles.

The ?New Girl? actress filed her divorce papers back in December 2011 and it took a year to process everything. But prior to her filing, she and Ben had already parted ways two months earlier. When news of their divorce first came out, the two did not talk much about the reason of their breakup.

Zooey did cite irreconcilable differences in the divorce papers she filed at the Los Angeles Superior Court.

They tied the knot in September 2009 and were together for almost three years. I think it?s a good thing they don?t have children who will be affected by this divorce.

Even though Zooey is officially single again, I don?t think many guys would have a chance with her since she only has eyes for screenwriter Jamie Linden at the moment. They?ve been spotted on dates a few times already.

I?ve always seen Liam Hemsworth as a laid back guy but he?s proven that he can throw a punch when the situation calls for it. TMZ?s video of his recent street brawl proves it!

Yes folks, Miley Cyrus? fianc? was involved in a street fight! Can hardly believe it can you? Well, it?s true. The fight happened early on Sunday, December 9 in Philadelphia where he?s currently filming ?Paranoia.?

The video captured by TMZ shows a guy holding on to Liam?s leg as the actor throws a punch in his face! Then Liam shoves his head to the ground. Liam?s companion helped hold down the other guy to the ground.

Apparently, Liam thought somebody threw a rock at them and immediately confronted the guy whom he thought threw it at them. After that the scuffle ensued.

Cops were called to the scene but nobody got arrested. Liam and his friend left soon after that. And from the looks of things, Liam and his friend won?t be held liable since the victim hasn?t filed any charges against them.

Does this one-time street brawl mean Liam is hiding a violent nature underneath his calm, demeanor? That?s scary I think.

Kanye West shocked everyone in attendance at the 12 12 12 Sandy Relief Concert when he turned up on the stage wearing a pleated black skirt with matching leather leggings! He also paired it up with a large hoodie and white sneakers.

If Kanye was hoping to get everyone?s attention he definitely succeeded! However, most of the reaction to his outfit was negative. Some even made fun of him! On Twitter, a user quipped that maybe Kanye?s outfit was a new item from the Kardashian collection! Even Jared Leto chimed in that he let Kanye borrow his skirt!

Drew Barrymore Shows Off Daughter Olive

At last, actress Drew Barrymore is ready to share her daughter Olive with the world! Drew kept baby Olive away from the cameras and limelight since her birth last September 26. But at last, we now get a glimpse of her on People Magazine!

Drew and her firstborn grace the cover of People. The photo chosen really shows the love and delight that a mother has for her offspring. It shows mother and daughter in a side view pose with Drew holding the wide-eyed Olive in her arms.

The new mom also disclosed to the magazine that after giving birth she got overwhelmed by the responsibility but now, she got it all covered. She sings, dances and jumps up and down in order to make her little girl smile each day.

She?s also resolved to give Olive a wonderful traditional home, something she didn?t have while growing up. Though she?s still trying to figure out some things about child rearing, she does have some guide on what not to do. Drew also has a great partner in hubby Will Kopelman who comes from a strong family.

Again, congrats Drew! Olive is one cute little girl!

Is heartbreak about to visit Britney Spears? door again? You see, there are rumors going around that her fianc? Jason Trawick is planning to break up with her soon! Apparently, he already told her family about it because he wants her to have a support system when he tells her the bad news.

Also, he intends to split with her after this season of ?X Factor? because he doesn?t want her to cope with the breakup while filming the show. Apparently, the two have been fighting constantly because Britney feels Jason is suffocating her with his fatherly attitude and he, in turn, feels like he?s just her babysitter.

A source told Hollyscoop that Brit and Jason are going on a vacation during the holidays. I hope it?s not a part of Jason?s breakup plan.

Well, could any of this be true? I should hope not. I liked Jason and I hope he is not that uncaring to break things off with Brit this way. He?s always looked out for Brit?s best interest so I hope these are just unfounded rumors.

And as you all know, this isn?t the first breakup rumor to plague the couple. And for sure it won?t be the last either! I think that even when they get married, split rumors are going to follow them still!

It?s been a while since Jennifer Aniston was hit by pregnancy rumors that gossipmongers think it?s time she gets them again. I?m not sure how this fresh batch of pregnancy rumors started but during the weekend, Jen was seen at a spa where she spent around four hours!

She was simply garbed in sweatpants and grey top but a close up photo of the actress show a bit of a bump on her tummy! Could it be because of a growing baby or perhaps she just had too much to eat during Thanksgiving? Jen is also a bit full-figured these days.

But aside from her figure, Grazia magazine also reported that Jen?s avoiding alcohol and sushi. As you some of you know, these are bad for pregnant women.

If Jen is indeed pregnant, I guess parenting will come before the wedding. Although she and her beau Justin Theroux got engaged last August, they don?t have firm wedding plans yet.

I?d be very happy for Jen if she?s pregnant. How about you?

Matthew McConaughey Up for an Oscar!

I'm totally rooting for Matthew McConaughey to win an Oscar!
This year, he's up for an Oscar and the funny thing is, it's not for his acting, but for a song!!
Needless to say, Magic Mike is a movie carved in the memories of all us gals ... and if you remember, just before Dallas performs his last dance on stage, he brings out the guitar, and sings a ballad; "Ladies of Tampa" and for that Matt may be up for the Golden boy!

But let me may it out straight, Matthew deserve an Oscar for just standing there in that body of his! I mean, If you haven't watched Magic Mike, you wont know what I'm talking about!

So, here's how it plays out, there are 75 songs eligible for Oscar nomination ... so, there's a big chance "Ladies of Tampa" will be a nominee and thus, Matthew will get up there on stage and perform his ballad, live. Now, if that happens -and i've got my fingers crossed- will he be dressed for the occasion? Will he be strutting his stuff and showing off more than an oiled torso?

No, but really, the competition is very strong, so Matthew's luck will have to be VERY strong for his song to be one of the 5 nominees ... Why do I say that? Well, the list of competitors is monstrous!
